So, continuing on!
More fun suitness! Kiera's trying to figure out how the Liber8 people could get back to 2077, and Alec alerts her to a guy who could be the key to the whole thing: a "Simon Fraser". (I had to LOL, because in Vancouver, a name like that usually makes people think of the explorer, or the university)

Seems he's a nuclear physicist who has figured out how to do controlled fusion reactions. Hmmm... and he claims it can be used to make FTL travel possible! Now, in the theory of relativity put forth by Einstein, were FTL possible it could mean time travel would be possible too.
Unfortunately, dude is already well-known, having made the cover of Wired, so Liber8 knows about him too! Kiera deduces this when she goes to meet the man's wife, and she gets really reluctant!
Meantime in the police bullpen, Carlos is doing his detective paperwork stuff, and Betty's hovering near him 'cause she likes him. :P She's also kinda the Felicity Smoak of this TV show, being the IT lady, and she relates some technobabble (well, it's sort of realistic) and indicates she's gonna find out who's planting false info about Linda!
Betty then expresses concerns about Linda, and she's clearly suspicious of our cop protagonist!
Linda herself is on her way to the "Linear Collider" at an unnamed University! In real life we don't have exactly that kinda thing, but there is TRIUMF at UBC, but it's not a linear collider per se.
Anyway, off we go!
On the way, Kiera calls Carlos! She claims she's in deep cover as a member of Liber8 and will have their location in a few minutes! She'll consent to being arrested along with the rest of them if the cops can get there in time.
MEANWHILE...
Kellog's doing his blend-into-the-21st-century thing and he's in front of a house, which is about to be sold. A young woman's there and they exchange small talk, including the tidbit that "his family used to live there"!

Could she be his grandmother or something??? :O

YES THIS IS TOTALLY SCIENCE-Y YOU GUYS :-P
(Apparently the actual scene was shot in some abandoned factory)
Lucas is busy assembling the time-travel apparatus, brushing off Dr. Fraser's concerns about the consequences of tampering with the collider (supposedly it aims particles at a deuterium/tritium target, so messing with an experimental fusion device WOULD BE KIND OF BAD MMKAY).
Kiera shows up, notices the dead bodies of the security people, and quietly sneaks up on the Liber8 gang using the invisibility function of her suit. She has a phone with her. She does something with it then leaves it behind.
Speaking of which, Carlos has already traced Kiera's call and found out who owned the cell phone! \o/ Smart cop is smart! :) It won't be long before he realizes the University is the final location. :D
Alec, however, realizes this could be the final goodbye. :| He warns Kiera that she could be returning to a future drastically changed from what she expects, but she replies she has to try.
Kiera: "It's all gonna work out. I know how this ends, remember?"
Awwww :(
(Aside!

THIS IS TOTALLY GONNA BE MY "S'ALL RIGHT BRAH" REACTION GIF. :P )
OH HOLY FUCK WHOA. Standoff!
Yeah I'm totally YouTubing this.
Kiera sends the Doctor off after demanding a truce between her and Liber8. Just to be sure the trip works, she shoots the emergency override!
Snarky dialog is snarky!
Curtis Chen: Bitch cop wants to come with us.
Kiera Cameron: Bitch cop does.
XD
The only wrinkle is they'll go back to 2071 not 2077, but as far as Kiera's gonna be concerned that's still way better than being stuck in 2012.
Lucas reluctantly admits the group needs to come in closer to the time sphere, which, given that Kiera is using one of the Liber8 people as a hostage, will prove a little difficult.
During the powering-up of the time sphere, Kiera flashes back to a time when she was talking to her son. He's worried that she won't tuck him into bed when she's off "chasing the bad guys", but she reassures him. Outside, though, her husband gives her a hard time about making promises she can't be sure she'll keep.
WHOOOPS THE TIME SPHERE OVERLOADED.

Everybody's thrown away from the blast, and as a result, Kiera's equipment (suit and multipurpose gun) are a little flaky.
The overload was enough to break the time sphere! Lucas begins scrabbling around, gathering the pieces! They sure ain't going home now so the only alternative is for Liber8 to shoot their way out, because the cops are starting to show up.
Kiera, inside the building, declares "cease fire over" and also starts shooting at the Liber8 criminals.
The blond lady, named Garza, has a leetle surprise!

BOOM MOTHERFUCKERS.
And then the aftermath! Kiera surrenders, and Liber8 is escaping.

"I'm missing a piece."
Oopsieshit.
The professor turns out to have been hiding out, and as Kiera's led out to her car he protests she shouldn't be arrested, as she saved his life. He exercises discretion and doesn't get too specific about what all she talked about with Liber8.
As Kiera gets booked and processed, Alec is busy doing stuff. Betty is trying to track down who falsified Kiera's records! She gets a security alert! :O
Meanwhile, Kiera's cuffed to a chair while she sees the prof reunited with his wife and she is sadfaced. :(
Dillon, in his turn, is tracing "Linda's" origins, and ends up with a reference to "Section Six" - apparently a classified super hush-hush branch of a government! Alec has her registered under her real name, Kiera Cameron, and she's a special agent. Dillon officially welcomes her onto the new anti-Liber8 task force! \o/
So with that, Carlos gets her a desk and gets her officially set up as a liaison to the Vancouver Police Department. :D Alec, you rock. :P
Just as she's about to leave after getting her desk, we see the missing time sphere piece being logged in as evidence!

She is so totally going to try to grab that thing.
The final moments have Alec wondering if she's upset about having to remain in 2012. She hopes she's maybe in 2012 for a reason, rather than just being caught up in something she has no control over. Awww. :(
So that ends Episode 2. Next time, I'll write up Ep 3 :)
